LONDON, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed on Tuesday morning in a house fire in a village in Northern Ireland, the British police said.

Firefighters from Lisnaskea, the second-largest settlement in County Fermanagh and the county town Enniskillen, were called to what the local fire service described as a "well-developed" blaze at a detached bungalow in Derrylin, Fermanagh, at 7:14 a.m. local time (0714 GMT).

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service tweeted two hours later that the blaze had been extinguished.

The cause of the blaze at the bungalow is being investigated and people have been told to avoid the area, said the police.

Some local politicians offered their condolences to the victims and their families.

"This is absolutely tragic; God help them all," tweeted Michelle Gildernew, an Irish Sinn Fein Member of Parliament for the area.

Britain's Democratic Unionist Party leader Arlene Foster tweeted, "Horrific news coming from Derrylin ... My thoughts and prayers are with the family and local community."
