DHAKA, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's export income rose 8.58 percent year on year to over 48 billion U.S. dollars in the just concluded 2024-25 fiscal year.
According to the latest official statistics of Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau, Bangladesh earned a total of 48,283.93 million dollars from exports in the last fiscal year (July 2024 to June 2025) compared to 44,469.74 million dollars in the previous year.
The country shipped goods worth 3.34 billion dollars in June, the 12th month of the fiscal year (July 2024 to June 2025), which was 7.55 percent lower than the same month a year ago.
As always, the growth in the 2024-25 fiscal year is largely attributed to the growing demand for the ready-made garment industry.
Of the total, Bangladesh earned 39.35 billion dollars from exports of ready-made garments, including knitwear and woven.
Bangladesh has set its export target for the 2024-25 fiscal year at 50 billion dollars, including 40.48 billion dollars from ready-made garment products. ■
