BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The IMF has lowered its forecast for Argentina's economic growth in 2025 to 4.5 percent, according to the latest World Economic Outlook report released Tuesday.

The new projection marks a downward revision from the 5.5 percent GDP growth forecast issued in April and reaffirmed in July.

For 2026, the IMF expects Argentina's economy to expand by 4 percent, compared with the earlier forecast of 4.5 percent.

Additionally, the financial institution has raised its projection for Argentina's 2025 inflation to 41.3 percent. For 2026, inflation is expected to ease to 16.4 percent.

The IMF's growth outlook is broadly in line with that of the World Bank, which recently cut its forecast for Argentina's 2025 GDP growth to 4.6 percent.
