KATHMANDU, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- A two-day art exhibition entitled "Charming Colors - An Exhibition of Chinese Contemporary Art" kicked off in Kathmandu on Sunday, featuring over 30 art pieces by Chinese artists on various themes.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Sujata Koirala, former deputy prime minister and former minister for foreign affairs, and Yu Hong, Chinese ambassador to Nepal.

Koirala said such events are important to boost cultural and people-to-people relations between the two neighbors.

"The incredible contemporary art works by Chinese artists has provided an opportunity to Nepali art lovers to know more about the art and culture of China," Koirala said.

Yu said the exhibition allows Nepali artists and art enthusiasts to learn deeply about Chinese philosophy, art and culture.

The exhibition, jointly organized by China Cultural Center in Nepal and China Art and Entertainment Group, will be held at Nepal Art Council till Monday.
