"The desire to win today was greater than before especially after winning the Australian Open previously and getting my confidence up. My coach and all the leaders in the team have been encouraging me and I am very thankful for them," Xu said after the award ceremony.

"I am very happy to win my first world tour title this year in Bulgaria," Ding said in turn. "Both the fans and the atmosphere in the venue really made it an memorable experience for me," she added.
