WINDHOEK, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Namibia and Kenya called for reform of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), said a statement on Sunday released by Namibian Presidential Office.

Namibian President Hage Geingob and his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta, who held a three-day bilateral engagement in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, have joined a host of other African countries which wish the African continent to have permanent representation in the UNSC.

"Namibia supports Kenya's quest for a seat at the security council and Namibia promises to vote for Kenya in their bid," Geingob said.

Kenya has been a non-permanent member of the UNSC during 1973-1974 and 1997-1998.

During Geingob's visit to Kenya, the two sides on Friday signed three key agreements focusing on tourism, youth and political consultations as part of efforts to boost bilateral cooperation.
