WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball is expected to miss 4-6 weeks due to a left ankle sprain, the team announced on Sunday.

Ball sprained his ankle in Saturday's 138-134 loss to the Houston Rockets when he collided with Rockets forward James Ennis. He fell to the floor and immediately grabbed his ankle before he was helped to the locker room.

The team is already without superstar LeBron James who's been sidelined for four weeks with a groin injury. Veteran guard Rajon Rondo is also out with a broken hand.

In the next four weeks, the Lakers have tough games scheduled against the Golden State Warriors (twice), the Philadelphia Sixers (twice), the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers.

Despite Ball's injury, coach Luke Walton said the team won't rush James or Rondo back from injuries.

The Lakers now have 25 wins and 22 defeats.
